Playing with my new dotting tools!

Yay, it's Friday! I spent yesterday afternoon/evening taking pictures and getting ready for a blog sale and I've got a doctor's appointment this morning so I'm cheating on today's post. No new swatches, just some simple nail art on yesterday's swatch of Leap Flog. Doodles really. Happy face! :)

I finally took the plunge and bought some dotting tools and a nail art brush and can't believe I waited so long. They're so much fun! The brush I got is fine tipped and will work great for small details. I like it a lot but decided already that I need more. What have I started!?

So with my nifty new dotting tool I gave myself some buttons using CND Silver Chrome. Simple. Sweet. And they remind me of spats, those fancy shoe coverings that Scrooge McDuck wore without shoes. Remember Duck Tales?

Not content to leave well enough alone, even though I should have, I decided to turn my nail spats into little bows. At first I thought I would do the entire thing with my dotting tools but it started getting messy so I switched to my new brush. Success! I used CND Copper Chrome for my bow centers.

I think my little bows are cute and I'm glad I got some practice in, but they'll look so much cuter with some pastels. The metallic I used wasn't very forgiving so you can see where my dots were and the texture of my painting. Even with the addition of top coat.

What do you think of my little bows and dots? Any recommendations or things I should try with my new tools?

In other news, I finally got my polishes catalogued and uploaded to the blog for you to check out if your interested in what I've got in my Helmer drawers. There's a tab at the top of the page, go on, check it out! Also, look for my blog sale to go live later today. It's not much but it's a start.
