31 Inspired Days of Nail Art - Green

Another Wednesday is here at last, and today is Day #4 of our 31 Inspired Days of Nail Art! That means GREEN nails, one of my favorites. Green has always been one of my favorite colors (I even had hunter green satin sheets once... don't judge, it was the 90's), but up until a few years ago I don't think I imagined ever wearing it with any regularity on my nails. Sure, I was into teals - who isn't - but I was nowhere near brave enough to wear bright or unusual colors on my nails. So today, I'm a happy and proud lover of all odd, ugly, unusual, or unloved colors on my nails. See! (except yellow, ugh)

Again, I pulled out my super-squishy and awesomepants jumbo XL stamper and did some stamping. This time I used the 2012 Bundle Monster plates, specifically plate BM-313. I'm assuming that this is an animal print, I've seen it used superbly to produce giraffe manis, but I'm going to call this my turtle mani! Or terrapin mani, if you want to sound smart and fancy. I used Konad polish in Olive Green to stamp over SpaRitual Optical Illusion. Whad'ja think?

For fun, and because I don't believe I've ever shown this polish on the blog before, here's shots of Optical Illusion on its own. I bought this around the time there was still a bit of a fuss over Orly Its Not Rocket Science from the Fall 2012 Cosmic FX collection. God, that feels like forever ago! China Glaze also has a version, you might've heard of it, called Zombie Zest. I got this bottle for almost nothing from a LivingSocial or Groupon deal for AveYou (or Bloom, can't remember /: ) so it satisfied my lemming for the Orly and China Glaze almost immediately. Somehow, I still want them though. What's wrong with me?

I'm wearing Optical Illusion at three coats over base coat, without a top coat. The base is a thin, translucent, soupy pea green color and the glass flecks are a golden green. As far as I'm concerned, its love in a bottle. Even with the patchy application. I also adore the rubberized handle this brand uses, perfect grip every time!

So what do you think, yay or nay? Are you into my turtle stamp nails? I like them a lot, especially how subtle the stamp is because it really lets the beauty of Optical Illusion show through! Next up, BLUE!

Please be sure to check out the four other lovely bloggers who are participating in this challenge alongside me!
