31 Inspired Days of Nail Art - Rainbow Nails

Hello everyone, how about a big fat HAPPY Friday! I hope your day has been excellent and your upcoming weekend will also be amazing. I'll be doing lots and lots of homework! Joy. Also, some nail stuff to relax. That is why, after all, I got into doing nails... to relax. Never did I expect there to be any deadlines, such as with this challenge.

Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun so far trying to think up things to do for different designs (that don't involve stamping). But I'm on some new medication for my thyroid that has got me stressed out the wazoo. Where is the wazoo, you ask? Who knows, but my anxiety levels have been off the charts at the drop of a hat lately so I haven't been able to enjoy doing my nails as much as I used to. That makes me a little sad because doing my nails is what I've been doing to "wind down" for the last two years. Hopefully, a switch of meds will let my stress and axiety over nothing and everything subside.

On the plus side, I've got a HUGE backlog of swatches and fun stuff to get edited as well as even more awesome stuff to show you guys once I get it swatched. I'm really looking forward to my Thanksgiving break this year. lol

Now... how about some RAINBOW nails!! Yay, day #7 of our challenge! OMG there were a ton of polishes used to do these so I'll let you have a looksie and I'll get down to the details below.

For this manicure I used:

OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls
OPI - Skull & Glossbones
CND - Silver Chrome
OPI - Color So Hot It Berns
OPI - In My Back Pocket
Zoya - Pippa
OPI - Ogre-The-Top Blues
OPI - Roadhouse Blues
and Bundle Monster plate BM-312

Whew! That's a lot of polish, possibly the most I've ever used... well, maybe 4th of July used more. Anyway, I used My Boyfriend Scales Walls on all nails a s a base color. For my index finger I sponged on a little Skull & Glossbones for some dimension to the clouds I stamped on using Silver Chrome and BM-312. After looking at pictures, maybe I should've used a different grey. These just look like dirty clouds! lol

My rainbows were hand painted on (without any tape - bc we don't get along) using the ROYGBV color scheme and a Bundle Monster brush I got in a set. OMG this was so flipping hard to do! A lot harder than I'd anticipated but I think it turned out fabulously, even if it is a completely literal interpretation of the theme. Using a white underneath really let each of the colors pop. The rhinestones on my pinkie are meant to be the gold at the end of the rainbow. Hey, I'm Irish. And a wishful thinker. :)

I hope you guys enjoy some of my first true free-hand nail art, I enjoyed the final product for sure. Only it took me an hour to do this manicure! Its my own personal mission to get better and faster using brushes, wish me luck! Also, don't forget to check out the other lovely bloggers participating in this challenge with me.
