Dark Shadows - Orly Buried Alive

Good morning my lovelies, I hope your Thursday is fantastic. I'm writing this post up at about a quarter to midnight (Wednesday) and I'm completely bushed. I spent the last few hours frantically completing a homework assignment that seemed to never end, no matter how fast I typed! I had a great day yesterday (today?), it was busy and productive. Most importantly I met with my thesis adviser and I'm very excited for my research, I actually have an idea... a plan! My biggest worry regarding this whole senior research/independent study project was that I wouldn't be able to come up with an idea, but I managed to work in all of my recent and relevant coursework and internship experience! Not to mention I've got a few contacts in well placed professional position who will be able to assist me in my research. What a relief!

In honor of my spectacular hump day, and the fact that I scored my first salted caramel mocha, I'm in the mood to show you guys a lovely brown polish! Today's swatch is another "underwear" polish, Orly Buried Alive, from the Dark Shadows collection. I originally used it in this Stamping Sunday post and loved the result. Can you believe it, I posted that at the beginning of August... that feels like forever ago! By the way, I have to credit the always incredible Fingers Polish Mania for my new found love of brown. She's a stamping queen and the champion of all the beautiful and unloved brown polishes everywhere.

This is one of those polishes I lost my notes on (I've got a whole bunch of 'em too) but I remember that I used two easy coats and the formula was perfect. What I really liked about this polish was how the golden shimmer gave this brown so much dimension and life. It certainly isn't the sad brown-ness that was my ultimate brown disappointment - OPI Wooden Shoe Like To Know. My, how my photo skills have improved! Cleanup for Orly Buried Alive was great, no issues to be had!

I'd like to say that I'll be sleeping in today, but nope, can't happen. I enjoyed so much free time this summer that I've been too slow getting my ass in gear for this semester... time to shape up! Oh, and guess what? Pretty soon I'll be starting a special challenge series with a few other fancy lady-bloggers, stay tuned!
