Zoya Song and FeiFei - Swatches and Review

Good afternoon everyone! I'm currently procrastinating while I should be doing some major soils homework... butIdon'twanna. What I really want to be doing is swatching some amazing polishes I've got stacked up in my untried bin. Have I mentioned there are a bunch of indies in there too!?  But, since I can't bring myself to set up my manicure spot (my conscious would just kill me), I figured I would do some blogging instead! yay! I've got so much stuff lined up its not fair! I really need to get caught up.

Today I'm going to show the only two polishes I got from the Zoya NYFW Diva Collection, Song and FeiFei. I've already shown you my glossies trio (GIVEAWAY ALERT!!), and I've picked up several of the Designer cremes I've yet to swatch.

Song is a beautiful sapphire blue shimmer that Zoya describes as a, "Bold, vibrant medium primary blue with silver and blue glittery metallic sparkle." On the nail it immediately reminds me of Essie Aruba Blue or OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue. The shimmer particles are much larger in Song, however, and I don't have either of those two colors to compare it to. I do have other comparisons lined up for you though!

For this swatch I used two coats of Song over basecoat, I don't believe I used a top coat so the shine you see all belongs to Song! The formula was good and well pigmented, but be careful during application to keep this out of your cuticles. It doesn't flood at all, but being so pigmented, Song gave me a bit of a struggle when I was cleaning up my cuticle area. You can also see some areas on my skin where I had some trouble getting the blue off. Best news? No Staining! Removal was a breeze.

FeiFei, oh FeiFei. How do I even begin to attempt to describe this polish, other than to say that its magical. Zoya describes FeiFei as a, "medium steel blue base with heavy gold, blue, and pink irridescent metallic sparkle." My first attempt would be to say that FeiFei is a microglitter along the lines of Zoya Crystal and the two NOPIs released not too long ago, Just Busta Mauve and For Gold Times Sake. FeiFei is very close to Crystal color-wise, but very very different nonetheless. I'll have comparisons up tomorrow!

For this swatch I used three coats over base coat, no top coat. Formula on FeiFei is thin with a translucent blue base and each coat dried fairly quickly. Two coats was enough for good coverage but I added a third for photos. Coverage for this polish comes not from the base, but entirely from the incredible microglitter. Looking closely I could see blue, gold, copper, and pink sparkle. This really is an incredible polish! Be prepared, however, for some work during clean up and removal. Warning: there will be shimmer fallout! It doesn't deter me from loving this polish in the slightest. :)

So tell me, did you get any of the polishes from the Zoya NYFW Diva Collection? I am torn on the rest of the colors... the red, Elisa, is beautiful but is so close to other red metallic shimmers I couldn't commit. Suri, the purple, is also gorgeous, and my kind of purple (blue not red) but again I can't pull the trigger. The only one I wanted to want but couldn't get over the frosty silver shimmer, was Ray. I love a good green but no thanks.
