31 Inspired Days of Nail Art - Black & White Nails

Once again, I am late with a challenge mani... have no fear my fearless readers, I've stocked up on the next few challenges so no more missing the "deadline." Woooo!

Challenge day #8 of our 31 Inspired Days of Nail Art is Black and White! For this challenge, I truly challenged myself. With tape. Yes, I defeated my nail art arch enemy! How?? By waiting hours and hours (literally) for my base color of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls to be dry. I also finally caved and cheated by using Seche Vite to speed things up. Its funny how we hold out on buying something or doing something a certain way for no rational reason whatsoever. That's so me, on many levels.

I finally beat the tape!!

For this manicure I wanted to go for that B&W cookie look, the kind with alternating frosting on sugar cookies. What I ended up with looks a little like Oreos, only missing half of the delicious cookie. Am I being silly here, or just craving junk food? Pumpkin muffins are great, but not cuttin' it right now. I digress... I used two coats of My Boyfriend Scales Walls followed by Seche Vite and an extensive dry time before using tape to lay down a line through the middle of my nail. I did each nail individually using three coats of butterLONDON Gobsmacked, a dark charcoal glitter in a translucent gray base.

I'm actually pretty proud of myself for having the patience to wait and finally making tape work. There are so many great things tape can be used for and finally I can say that nail art is one of them! Wooo, I win! This is a total "neener-neener" moment for me and I'm thrilled.

Don't forget to check out the other amazing bloggers participating in this challenge with me! They're much more punctual than myself, I promise. :)
