Teal Tuesday - Mani Swap

Good morning lovelies, I missed you! Its Tuesday again and that means its time for another installment of Teal Tuesdays! This week's theme was Mani Swap. Everyone who wanted to participate this week put their name in a hat and we were randomly selected secret swap partners. The final goal was to recreate a manicure inspired by our secret swap, using teal of course! My swap partner was Allison from Love In a Bottle, she has a facebook page dedicated to her manicures as well as a blog. Be sure to check them out. :)

After looking through all of Allison's pictures on her facebook and blog I decided to recreate a leopard print manicure she did using neons and an accent nail. I chose her leopard print because I'd never done one myself and I wanted to finally give it a try. Here's allison's manicure:

For my recreation I used Misa Toxic Seduction (I had to have it after I saw it on Missy's blog, Gnarly Gnails), Misa Live Without Knowing, and China Glaze Immortal (I used this in last week's Teal Tuesday, too). On my ring finger I used Live Without Knowing as my base color and Toxic Seduction as my spots with Immortal as the spot outlines. I did the reverse on all the rest of my nails.

So tell me, how did I do on my first leopard print? I think Allison used a stamp, which would have made this go a lot faster. But I'm happy I tried doing them free-hand... even though I think they look a little like zombie flowers. lol Maybe its because Immortal is the color of zombie flesh.

Oh yeah, and if you haven't already noticed, I nubbinized last night! I have a field lab weekend camping trip for my geology class and since we'll be doing soil identification by feel my hands will be all up in that dirt and getting wet a lot too. So it was time for a chop. I can't lie, it was hard to do but now that its all done I'm loving my nubs! I can use my fingertips again and typing is so much faster! :) Not to mention polishing goes a lot faster too.

Don't forget to check out all of the other amazing participants in Teal Tuesdays, their links are down below!
