/afternoon/evening! I'm not sure exactly when this post will get published [I got this published within 24 hours of drafting, WOOO!] but I'm currently drafting this post at about 10:30am while at work [yesterday]. My current assignment isn't all that exciting unless you're really into road construction & bridge building and the location is tucked in between a housing development and a casino with hardly more to look at than some scrawny creosote bushes and discarded beer bottles. The best part of my day is in the morning when I get to watch the sunrise, you may have seen several of my pictures on Instagram since I can't get enough of them.
Anyway, it's full on summer here in Las Vegas and after a ridiculous heat wave, with several days reaching 115-120 degrees, monsoon season is in full effect. Now, to those who don't live in the Southwest, the idea of a monsoon season might sound ridiculous. It isn't. All those nasty storms in the Gulf of Mexico push on through and give us just enough moisture to both tease us with rain and thunderstorms and torture us with a significant rise in humidity. Normal levels of humidity around here is in the single digits, so I can feel a HUGE difference when we start nearing 10, 15, and 20%. Storms obviously push it even higher. I've lived on the East Coast so I know what sweltering really is, but for us, this is awful.
Where was I going with this? Well, for the last week I was sporting a polish so aptly named for this season, China Glaze Heat Index. Heat Index is one of the jelly polishes from China Glaze's Sunsational Summer 2013 collection.
For a jelly worn at three coats, I was pleasantly surprised by the wear time on this polish. I made sure to give plenty of time between coats for dry time to prevent shrinkage and really didn't have any issues with formula or application. I even wore this as a pedicure for a few weeks. I mean, seriously, I LOVE this polish. Everything about it. This is the kind of pink I die for, it just screams IN YO FACE! Huge thank you to Cynthia from Of Life And Lacquer for this fabulous gift.
I took so many pictures of Heat Index and they all look so amazing and delicious so I just smashed them all together for your viewing pleasure! See how my fingertips just glow? This color is seriously radioactive like that, I hated to take it off and I'm sure ill be wearing it again soon. I can't resist.
Alright ladies and gents, I've got to get back to work but its been a blast getting back into the groove with you all. Slowly but surely I'm finding a routine that will allow me to post more frequently and share some goodies I've been accumulating. I'm pretty sure there will be some pictures of my sharkpuppy, Bette. The "new puppy smell" is gone and she looks like a mini version of her grown up self, but she'll always be my lovey-dovey sharkpuppy!
