Good morning everyone! Today I have another installation of The Lacquer Ring and the theme is "geometric." Guess what? I picked this month's challenges. Yay! Life has been so crazy and busy lately that it has been hard to keep up with bi-weekly challenges, but I'm trying I swear it. I worked up this week's manicure yesterday afternoon in between pool maintenance tasks and running errands. Never a wise choice, I messed up at least two nails and had to re-do. Let's take a look, yeah?
The polishes I used include Sinful Colors Whipped, a matte black shade that I love, and the absolutely stunning OPI Green On The Runway. Green On The Runway is a breathtaking emerald shimmer with a duochrome shift to reddish brown. I'm blown away mad this is now officially my favorite shade of the year. Seriously, it's that good.
She the incredible shift in the photo below? I took that photo without flash as it shows the color shift the strongest. For my geometric elements I used tape on my index finger to create a deep V and stamped my middle and ring fingers with a design from Pueen plate 11. Green On The Runway covered well in two coats but the first coat is a little thin or patchy, it also stamped well as I used it over black on my middle finger. I stamped my ring finger using Konad Special Black.
Green On The Runway is from the OPI Coca Cola collection that came out recently, my sister snagged it for me at a local Cosmoprof. I'm over the moon for this color because it is such a rich emerald color, one of my favorite colors in fact and the color of my birthstone, but the clerk said she was surprised that they had sold even one bottle of this color. Seriously, what now?? How can you not love this color!?
Now, I know this shade is supposed to be representative of Sprite, a Coca Cola product, but I wanted to show how this shade is really analogous to the green glass used by old Sprite bottles. Only, I don't have an old Sprite bottle... What I do have, however, is an old 7 Up bottle I found in the desert this spring. Pretty neat, huh? Too bad it's only a throwback/repop, it's still rather old though. Only, not as old as you might think.
Now, be sure to check out the other amazing women who are participating in this week's TLR challenge: Cynthia from Of Life and Lacquer, Frosso from Lacquer Me Silly, Siobhan from For the Love of Nail Art, Amy from The Fancy Side, Nicole from Polish Me, Please!, Amanda from Mae's Beauty, and last but not least - our non-blogger friend, Lesley, who's got a sweet Instagram account.
